Verónica Macías Andere

Verónica says that she chose her own name. She explains that, after several months of being unable to agree on a name, her family decided to let her show them what she wanted to be called. And she did so with a smile. She has sought to preserve that early sense of freedom throughout her life. Both freedom and her interest in working with people have guided her professional path, and they continue to serve as a map for exploring new territories.

She studied Social Anthropology at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (Mexico). She earned a master’s degree in Educational Research, with a socio-anthropological focus, at the National University of Córdoba in Argentina, where she lived for seven years. She later completed a master’s degree in Narrative Practices for Education and Community Work in the Sierra Nororiental region of Puebla.

She has been a member of the Colectivo de Prácticas Narrativas (Mexico) since 2019, and has coordinated the master’s program in Narrative Therapy since 2023.

She enjoys reading, writing, conversation, and learning. She is a member of Ariles Editorial, the podcast Ellas cuentan, and the Constructoras de Esperanzas collective. She has found many connections between narrative practices and literature, particularly children’s literature. She has a ten-year-old daughter and three cats.
