The In-Person Diploma in Child Development and Family Work, 2027 is a 10-month exploration beginning in March 2027. The programme will be held in person in Pondicherry (Puducherry), India.
This diploma is designed for people who are curious about working alongside children (aged 0–8 years) and their families.
Rooted in principles of play-based engagement, narrative practices, children's literature, developmental and community-based approaches to working with children, the course supports practitioners in developing intentional, developmentally appropriate, and contextually relevant practices
Learning alongside Children, We believe that understanding children's development and the role of play cannot happen only through reading or discussion. It is equally important to spend time with children, observe how they play, and experience the joy of being alongside them.
We believe that fun, curiosity, and playfulness are at the heart of working with children. By learning alongside children, participants will deepen their understanding of child development while experiencing the richness of children's everyday worlds.
Hence during the diploma program we will be visiting school in Pondicherry. These school visits will provide opportunities to spend time with children, participate in play, and build meaningful interactions with them and understand where children are at.
