Abbas Ali

Abbas is a Hindustani poet drawn to the lived experiences of minorities and the quiet, persistent forms of resistance that communities practice. As a facilitator, their most recent work has been with children on Social Emotional Learning through the Arts, as part of the Jijivisha Fellowship with Slam Out Loud. Alongside this, Abbas is pursuing a Diploma in Responding to Trauma and Violence using Narrative Practices.

Abbas is moved, again and again, by the play and love that live so abundantly in spaces, people, and movements, and often finds themself dreaming of structures of life built around that same tenderness. For Abbas, matters of the heart are the life's work, a calling upon some of us.
